DANA POINT MONARCH HABITAT PLANTINGS and PHOTOS

DANA POINT MONARCH HABITAT PLANTINGS and PHOTOS

All the planting is done by an enthusiastic army of community volunteers made up of children thru senior citizens, youth groups, families, grandparents, teens getting service hours, etc. ALL WELCOME!
Usually, 40+ people participate in a 9am to noon planting session at select parks. The City provides all the plants,

gloves, shovels, tools, wheelbarrow, buckets, soil amendment and mulch necessary.  Monarch Watch
‘Monarch Conservation Specialist for southern California’ Susie Vanderlip works with Dana Point City employees overseeing the project to direct volunteers in the planting efforts. Every half-day planting
event is always a beehive of eco-friendly activity that brings citizens, the city, and the environment together to make an important contribution to the beauty of Dana Point and to the conservation of monarch butterflies!

Anyone interested in participating in the planting events, please contact Jasmine Riyhani at the City of Dana Point.
